Meet
"MAC"

MAC
is our new small "Multi-Application Controller"
powered by the 16F88 PIC microcontroller.
Available
for Delivery after May 1st, 2009
The
concept behind this new controller is to provide
a controller that can be configured for many
different small applications whereby one of our
larger ePLCs is either too large physically or
too pricey. The smaller foot print is a fraction
of our Smart-PAK, measuring 4.33" x
3.54"
Within
this small foot print, we have packed an enormous
amount of capabilities.
MAC
includes the following:
- Power
= 8 - 24 VDC
- 1
optically isolated input that can be
configured for either AC or DC
- 4
configurable inputs (digital or analog)
- 2
High current solid state outputs utilzing
Entertron's 30 year design - (AC triac or
DC PNP transistor) capable of 5 amps (15
amp transistor option available)
- Communications
port - ModBUS RTU through 2 wire RS485 or
I2C
- 8
position dip switch
Programming
is done through the PIC Basic Pro Software.
Our first
design (and inspiration) is a two channel PWM
controller that will interface to our ePLCs (or
any other manufacturer) through either ModBus RTU
via RS485 or via analog outputs.
The PWM
controller includes four trim pots for individual
control of both frequency and duty cycle for each
PWM output. This design incorporates two 5 amp
PNP Transistors for driving your output devices.
In addition, we have sized the traces to handle a
15 amp transistor on board.
Through
programming, we can configure MAC for many
different applications. At this point, we are
currently developing other applications using MAC
that will be posted on this page when completed.
As we post new applications using MAC, it will
provide you, the reader, with a better
understanding of the wide range of applications
that MAC can accomplish.
Some
Examples of how MAC can be used.
Interface
MAC via ModBus RTU (RS485) to the Smart-PAK PLUS
as a slave module for PWM control.
Utilizing
MAC and a Matrix Orbital display module
with I2C communications, you can develop a small
dedicated control application with visual
readout. Utilize the trim pots for internal
adjustment.
Program
MAC using PIC Basic Pro Software (PIC Basic,
Assembly, C/C++) or allow Entertron to develop
your application program for you.
