Introduces Programmable Vehicle Restraint Controller
Gasport, NY - June 5, 2003 --
Entertron Industries Inc., the innovation leader in
programmable logic controller solutions has introduced a
programmable vehicle restraint controller.
Known as the VRC-G2, the controller
was based on the Smart-PAK micro ePLC and incorporates 2
15 amp relays to control the operations of the vehicle
restraint actuator.
The VRC-G2 was thoroughly tested. A
total of 40,000 continuous one minute cycles were
performed on the controller without failure. That is the
equivalent of 16 years of flawless operation (10
operations per day). During testing, a total of two
actuators and two gas shocks wore out.
The VRC-G2 is set for 24 VAC
operations, using a 120 VAC or 240 VAC stepdown
transformer to 24 VAC. All inputs and outputs are board
powered. A total of 6 inputs and 6 outputs are
incorporated into the design.
The VRC-G2 is programmable using
Entertron's Eware32 ladder logic programming software.
Utilizing the Smart-PAK operating system, available are
24 T/C registers (Timer / Counter) and 149 internal
relays for logic.
This controller can be programmed
for vehicle restraint systems in the following
configurations:
- 2 Light
- 2 Light with audible alarm
- 3 Light
Entertron's programming software
makes it possible to modify the program. The program is
stored on an EPROM. No customer or competitor will be
able to access your program. A simple modification can be
done in software, burned on an EPROM and sent to the
customer for installation.
Entertron is providing a 3 year
warranty on the VRC-G2. Other manufacturer warranties are
typically one year. The controller has been certified as
a UL / ULc recognized component under standard 508
