Web / Press Release For publication Entertron Introduces an Interface for Your PDA to ePLC ConnectionGasport, NY - July 14, 2003 -- Entertron Industries Inc., the innovation leader in embedded programmable logic controller solutions, introduces ePalm - an interface for "Personal Data Assistants" (PDA) to Entertron's ePLCs. ePalm is more than just a convenient replacement for a laptop or operator interface; it is a unique and essential tool for managing field service technicians, managers, and operators. By working with aliases, the user can restrict full access to your ePLC-based systems while granting access to a reduced set of parameters. ePalm contains a spreadsheet-style interface and allows you to manage a list of aliases. These aliases allow you to set control limits and generate alarms if any system variable is out of control. ePalm requires the following:
The ePalm software offers password protection allowing the user to only scroll through the aliases. No further changes to the ePLC settings are possible without password access. This mode is used to prevent unauthorized users from changing ePLC settings as well as preventing mistakes by authorized users. The user of ePalm can do the following:
Entertron is offering a "no expiration" license. Meaning that once a license for a specific PDA is purchased, there is no renewal required. The only time ePalm would have to be purchased again, would be for a feature based upgrade. Bug upgrades are no charge. ePalm will run for 30 days without registration. Once the 30 days have expired, a license is required. The cost for this unique interface software for your PDA is $95 / license. For specifications and access to manual information click to access.
